[Praskipark, 22/05/2008] Liburna Hotel, is one of a group of three hotels located on the sea front which is outside the old town of Korcula. Having stayed in the Park Hotel which is slap bang next door we decided to try this one as it looked a bit more up market. It is situated in a secluded location with fantastic views of Korcula and Orebic, with the mountain of St. Ilijah looming, dark and moody, in the background. It takes 10 mins to walk into the town passing the marina, with some quite flashy boats usually from Italy and the South of France and various small bars and ice cream parlours. After a short description of their trip from Dubrovnik to Korčula, Mr A Slobodian writes about "friendly and courteous" staff, which "generally don't expect a tip". He felt "lucky" to have a room with a view on Korčula's Old Town as it was "one of the finest" views from any of the hotels he had stayed. The "comfortable" guest rooms are described as "clean" but "not luxurious", with a satellite TV and "very reasonably" priced mini-bar, and the bathroom that was also "clean". She says that location is "ideal" for going to town which takes only a few minutes walk. Their suite was "spacious and clean", but a "bit basic" and beds were too soft and uncomfortable.
