[03/06/2008] The author calls Mainau "Germany‘s garden island" which is "bursting with radiant color and fragrance". They consider it a "little oasis" and a "relaxing thrill".
Mainau can be "easily reached", the gardens "beg to be leisurely strolled through", the visitors can encounter "every imaginable - and unimaginable - species of roses."
There is also a "stately castle" on the island which cannot be toured though. Occasionally it is possible "to enjoy live musical performances among the serenely perfect surroundings".
