Kieler Yacht Club was visited by Darwin Porter in December 2006 and rated as Frommer's highly recommended (or one out of three stars). It "offers unusually fine guest facilities". The "old classical" hotel building has a location "standing back from the harbor". There is a "contemporary motel" adjoined.
The rooms are "comfortable but unexciting". All of them have "neatly arranged bathrooms with tub/shower combinations".
