[oldwasp, 28/08/2007] A small description and photos of the lighthouse that was made by the British in 1828. The photos show you different angles of the lighthouse. The lighthouse is round with the lower level surrounded by supporting pillars like ancient Greek buildings.

[jipp05, 21/02/2011] As much as I enjoyed sunbathing and swimming in the beautful sea I did want to see some of what Kefalonia had to offer so we booked a bus tour. In the space of a day we managed to visit all he islands main sites and the one that sticks out most in my mind as somewhere that i consider both a must see and somewhere that frustrated me is the Melissani lake. The Melissani lake is located in an underground cave that has an opening on top. This lake has remained undescovered until the 1950's when it was accidentaly found. However an ancient latern was found so it was known by the ancient Greeks. [more]
