[la-brock, 17/03/2011] I absolutely do not agree with the last 2 reviews of this hotel and do not recognise the descriptions given about the guests experiences!
Firstly, yes, this is at the budget end of the scale for hotels and run on a board only basis but this in no way reflects the service and hospitality provided at this family run establishment. I have been visiting this place regularly for 4 or 5 years and have never found anything other than warmth, friendliness and generosity AND, importantly, my sheets have always been clean! [sconeal, 22/06/2010] We just returned from a 2 week trip to Greece! What can I say? The Hotel Matina is the BEST! The hospitality is exceptional. It is a family run hotel and they will do everything to make your stay one of the best. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone traveling to Santorini!

Last September we stayed in Hotel Matina in Kamari Santorini (there are a couple of more hotels with the same name in other islands... never have visited them... but they are under different management anyway, probably just happen to have the same name).
The hotel is in a nice location, close to the beach and nearly everything.
The family running the hotel made us feel like home, they were so hospitable that we felt as family members!
The truth is that as we also noticed a lot of the guests were coming back year after year and they seemed to know each other.
