[more]The Indonesia Armed Forces Museum in Jakarta was opened in 1972 to commemorate the development of the Indonesian Armed Forces and their role in the struggle for independence.
A series of dioramas and models portray some of the important events and actions during the fight for independence. Several areas are dedicated to the leaders and generals who led the Indonesian forces during the campaign.
In a separate room, an assortment of light and heavy arms and armaments are displayed. Outside there is a collection of armoured vehicles and a display of aircraft used by the Indonesian Armed Forces.
The museum is open daily except Mondays from 0900 to 1430 hours.
Admission charge is 2500 Rupiah (Euro 0.22) for adults and 1500 Rupiah (Euro 0.13) for children.
