[sameh111, 18/07/2011] Of the finest archaeological sites in Turkey Sultan Ahmet Camii mosque , when we entered the mosque we were surprised by his determination and also the rare artifacts that that are found inside . this is in addition to the contents of the mosque is contains a library with many books on Islam, we can read each other for free . i liked a lot the traditions there is that once we went there they give The women with us a distinct type of clothes to wear, as well as plastic bags to put our shoes out.

[galibali, 26/08/2009] Blue Mosque or Mavi Camii as it is called on local language is really big and build with single mission: ti impress. This is the only one mosque with six minarets, and as our tour guide told us, was build this way by mistake. The Sultan wanted a mosque with golden minarets in Turkish "altan" , but the architect overheard "alta" which means six. So it was build up with six minarets, and when the Sultan saw it he was so impressed and like it so much, that the architect was not punished, but prized. [Dalka, 13/07/2009] This mosque is called the Blue Mosque, because of the blue glasses that are used for the window vitrages, also mosaics and some of the carpets. Blue is like a divine colour here, and you feel somewhat mysterious once you enter inside. The Blue mosque is the first mosque in the Ottoman empire with so many minarets. The story of the building is very interesting. Sultan Ahmet ordered to his architect to build a mosque with golden minarets. Lynne Levine describes the Blue Mosque as a "grand bubble of masonry" and says it's one of the "defining features" of Istanbul's city skyline. She relates the history of how and why the mosque was built and comments that the architectural devices employed give an effect of "great harmony, grace, and power". She says it's "impossible to walk away from this building unaffected".
