Paleokastritsa is located on the west side of Corfu and the monastery is up a fairly steep snaking tarmac road, hard going if your very unfit. Once at the top there is a taverna if you need refreshments. Entrance into the monastery is free but their is a box available for any donations. The restaurant is located below the road through Paleokastritsa, 15 steps lead down to the dining area, luckily there is a menu located at the entrance which saves you the trip down if you do not fancy anything.
