The author describes the Dunain Park Hotel which is located 2 and a half miles from Inverness as an "18th-century mansion set amid 6 acres of wooded gardens" where an "open fire awaits you in the living room" and "individual attention" is on offer from the staff. It is suggested that the living room is a good place to relax with "a drink and browse through books and magazines".
The bedrooms have a blend of "antiques and traditional touches" which makes them "equally cozy and attractive". Whilst the restaurant serves "French-influenced Scottish dishes" that include "Shetland salmon baked in sea salt and medallions of venison rolled in oatmeal with a claret-and-crème-de-cassis sauce".
