[Chouchin, 13.02.2008] The "plain, low-profile 1930s Art Deco" architecture gives the hotel a "modern, corporate" feel but inside there is a "relaxing mood of comfort and style" has been created. The reception area is "glossy" and the whole interior "fresh and sparkingly new" following a recent renovation. Despite this, a sense of "clubby elegance" has been retained with "quality furnishings" of "leather and jacquard". A unique feature are the two chauffeur-driven Rolls available for airport transfers or for day trips. Service everywhere is "friendly" and all the staff seem "motivated". The managing director is "noticeably hands-on".

All rooms have "parkland views" and are furnished with "smart fabrics". Beds have Egyptian cotton linen. The "handsome marble-finished" bathrooms have separate bath and shower. Satellite TV and broadband is provided and as well as the "well-stocked" minibar there is a "complimentary decanter of whisky". The reviewer recommends specific rooms but emphasises all are "modish".

The restaurant is "gracious" but not "overly formal" and provides a "relaxing, rather intimate" ambience. The table setting gives a "touch of class" and chairs are "comfortable". The menu is "modern Scottish" featuring local produce. The reviewer found his meal "excellent" and the service was "smooth, yet never intrusive". Breakfast was also "done well" with "effort" made to get it right.

The reviewer also mentions the "state of the art" function rooms including a "magnificent" ballroom. It is "one of the best and largest conference venues in the Highlands". The dedicated entrance and layout keep function guests and residents separate.

The hotel is well located on the airport side of the city in "quiet" parkland with plenty of parking. Inverness is also served by overnight sleeper from London. The environs offer outdoor sports and historical attractions within easy reach.
