I booked this hotel for a relaxing weekend as a surprise for my fiancee so that we could recharge our batteries from a busy workload of late and on looking at this hotel its 4 star appeal and location looked ideal.
How wrong can you be.
On the outset it may well look like a 4 star hotel and indeed some parts may well be but certainly not in the room we stayed in.
The room looked very tired and was in need of some major refit and refurb, the shower screen was broken, water marks on the ceiling, dirty linen, we found a blood stained pillow after our first night and left it out to be replaced when the room was to be cleaned only to come back later that evening to fine it back in the made bed, duvet cover was torn, room had not been hoovered the TV was about 15 years old and we had hardly any sleep due to the room above which we are both convinced is used by staff walking back and fore over squeeking flloorboards most of the night.
Having worked in the catering trade the food and drink is seriously overpriced although the breakfast is worthy of a 4 star rating it was excellent.
All in all we left more tired and stressed than when we arrived and that is not what you expect from a so called 4 star rated hotel when you are paying 4 star prices.
Very disappointed.
