A visit to Inveraray Jail affords you the opportunity to sit in the courtroom, discover what sort of torture was used, try out a hammock, peep at a prisoner in a bath and see what they had to eat. Try out the airing cages and experience being locked up. Men, women and children were locked up here. Catering for all nationalities, the prison is geared up to take large parties and schools, as well as the casual visitor.

Inveraray Castle is the seat of the Clan Campbell and the family home of the Duke and Duchess of Argyll, who are the custodians. It is open to the public from 1st April - 31st October every year, Monday-Saturday - 10h00-17h45 and last admission is at 17h00. Admission costs are:

Auchindrain Museum

Auchindrain Museum is situated six miles outside Inveraray on the Lochgilphead Road.
It is open from 1st April - 31st October, daily, 10am-5pm with last admission at 4pm.
Admission charges are Adults £4.50, Children (5-15 years old) £2.20, Senior Citizens and Students £3.50, Families (2 adults and up to 3 children 5-15 years old) £12.00. Groups (over 20) £2.35.

The Arctic Penguin is moored at Inveraray pier and was transformed into a Maritime Museum in 1995. Admission prices are Adults £3.80, Children £2.20, Seniors £2.80, Family £11.00, special discounts for groups. Hydro Connect Music Festival

The Hydro Connect Music Festival is an annual event that takes place the last weekend in August over three days (Friday, Saturday and Sunday). Day passes are available, as are weekend packages. The main stage is called the Oyster Stage and a variety of stars, which change yearly, are presented. Prices vary every year and details can be found at the website.

Inveraray Highland Games

Inveraray Highland Games Is held on the first Tuesday of the Glasgow Fair, which usually falls around July 20th every year. It is a festival of highland dance and piping competitions, tossing the caber as well and a varied athletic programme.
Many stalls and sideshows are provided. A parade leaves the town at 10.45 with the chieftain leading (the Duke of Argyll) and a band plays everyone up to the field where they start at 11am. There are also vans selling food, a beer tent and on site toil
