Taj Chandela - Khajuraho, India - April, 2007
A good base for exploring the Khajuraho temples (26.12.2007 16:32)
Khajuraho, 370 miles from Delhi in Madhya Pradesh, is best known for the temples with the 'erotic sculptures'. Some might call it 'porn', others 'art', but the fact is that the thousand-year-old temples contain a range of stunning sculptures and, among them, once can see sculptures of sex acts including solo, one-on-one, one-on-two, masturbation, bestiality, voyeurism, gang-bangs and more. There [more...]

Radisson Varanasi - Varanasi, India - January, 2007
A night in the Holy City (19.05.2007 09:53)
The hotel seems to be catering mostly to tour groups and business travellers, both of whom are probably there for just one or two nights and doubtless are out all day. For both, the room and breakfast are probably the most important things and they have got these right. However they really need to sort out the hopeless Reception and the boring dinner. The listed rack rate for the hotel is [more...]

Intercontinental the Grand Resort Goa - Panaji, India - October, 2006
    Be a Grand Goa! (31.03.2007 18:34)
I'd been planning to visit Goa for years, ten or more, and finally the opportunity arose, with being "in the neighbourhood" and we were enticed by a great offer! It was off season so we managed to get an unbeatable deal at the Intercon Resort. Other than the room flooded by the rain one night, we had a good stay. The people there were helpful and pleasant, the food was good, and we just [more...]

Sahil Sarovar Portico - Lonavala, India - September, 2006
A base to explore lovely Lonavala (28.03.2007 20:34)
The hotel is described on the website as breathtaking which frankly is a little exaggerated! However, it is a reasonably clean, bar the sheets in my room, and comfortable. The food is fine, if limited and the bar would comfortably accommodate a crowd of two. It's not the place to stay for more than a few nights but, as a base to explore the lovely Lonavala area, it is more than adequate. [more...]

Hyatt Regency Mumbai - Mumbai, India - January, 2007
Nice room but design over substance. (06.02.2007 19:24)
The feel of the room was that someone had made a very big effort to make it look different from the bog standard hotel room. The hallway was marbled, opening up into the main room with a wooden floor. The room was offset at an angle from the corridor. The bed was real king sized, with more pillows than I could use in a pillow fight! it was also very comfortable. The desk was of glass, a [more...]
