  • Intercontinental Boston

Intercontinental Boston - Boston, United States of America - May, 2008
Best room i have had the pleasure of in Boston (16.05.2008 18:10)
I ended up in the Intercontinental in Boston and got an astonishingly special rate, I'm not so sure I would usually stay here because of the price. However, it was a great pleasure. The location could not have been better for me and the room was by far the best quality I have had whilst staying in Boston. It was positively spacious: side suite with desk, large bathroom - with sliding shutters [more...]

Pantages Suites and Spa - Toronto, Canada - May, 2008
Modern style hotel in the centre of Toronto (16.05.2008 17:32)
I was pleased with my stay at the Pantages Suites in Toronto. The hotel has a fun, modern and (I suppose) trendy kind of atmosphere. The hotel feels a bit different but the result is a relaxing place to stay. The main strengths of the hotel are the generous sized rooms, its location at the centre of Toronto (not the smartest area but good for walking about) and its relaxed atmosphere. [more...]

Cosy retreat in Diego Suarez (19.04.2008 12:39)
We were delighted to find this haven of relaxation and civility in Diego Suarez. It was a close call because where we had decided to stay was full, thank goodness. The Allamanda Hotel has terrific sea views, clean / functional rooms, a small pool and a welcoming restaurant. Ideal as a springboard into the Northern National Parks of Madagascar. [more...]

Réserve spéciale de l'Ankarana - Antsiranana, Madagascar
Ankarana National Park: Animals, Tsingy (24.03.2008 21:54)
This was a fantastic introduction to Madagascar for me and it had a bit of everything - natural beauty, intriguing culture and amazing animals. Some of the highlights: - Camping under the stars with Cap Nord, who also cooked up great food. - Seeing the Sportif Lemur perching up in their tree hollows - The Limestone Tsingy was an impressive sight - An assortment of animals including bright [more...]

Family run hotel with charm (10.03.2008 21:16)
A real treat because of the family who run the hotel with passion and joviality. I was attending a family gathering and it was ideal for this. Apparently they host a lot of parties...great location and very picturesque. [more...]

Meliá Berlin - Berlin, Germany - March, 2008
    Comfy Berlin Hotel (08.03.2008 16:06)
Very content with the overall experience for a business style hotel. Functional, efficient and pretty nice. We got to stay on the 7th Floor which seemed to be a corporate bonus of some description, unsure what the experience is like otherwise. [more...]

Express By Holiday Inn Berlin-Anhalter Bahnhof - Berlin, Germany - March, 2008
    Simple and functional (08.03.2008 15:50)
The hotel was functional and worked well for me. I was irritated by getting a smokers room when I ordered a non-smoking room online but the hotel was apparently full - still most annoying. Didn't get a chance to check out the features much as i was in late and out early....that is why I stayed somewhere called a holiday inn express i guess! [more...]

Bungalows Lavasoa - Taolagnaro, Madagascar - November, 2007
best place in Fort Dauphin (30.01.2008 00:21)
A winning place and wonderful rooms. Book up in advance to get a room, the other places are not a patch on this. Would be great if it had a bigger eating / bar area but you cannot have it all. [more...]

Tentstation - camping meets bohemian chic? (29.01.2008 22:45)
A really unexpected find that has a great vibe that matches the bohemian chic Berlin feel. I was staying with a friend who was writing a Rough Guide to Berlin and this was one of his top tips. [more...]

The Imperial - Delhi, India - October, 2006
A winning introduction to Delhi and India (11.01.2008 16:44)
An expensive treat but a great way to spend the first night or two in Delhi and acclimatise. Done to the highest spec it still manages to capture a traditional Raj atmosphere. [more...]
