[keksl, 05/02/2013] I selected this airport because I was told it it more convenient than the American Airlines Hub in Miami, to get to central America, in my case I arrived with Lufthansa to connect a few days later, as I have friend living in the Houston area, with TACA to Guatemala City.
The aiport itself is spacious and i went hasselfree through customs and inmigration which is much spedier then Miami.
I think also the authorities and the airline staff are much friendlier here even though the texan accent it a bit hard to get used too.
