Hotel Features. The Victorian Sheraton Moana Surfrider holds her place in history as the first resort built on Waikiki. Expert Tip. An unsolved mystery occurred in 1905 within this historic property, namely the supposed poisoning of Jane Stanford, wife of then California governor Leland Standford and co founder of Stanford University. Staff have since reported several sightings of a mysterious shadow lurking among the grounds.
