Originally a "doctor's surgery and residence", the Macquarie Manor was built in 1875 in a "classic colonial-style". Frommers say that it's the sort of place at which "you want to stay" once you've entered. It is situated a couple of blocks from the central bus terminal and there is a parking next to it. It is a non-smoking hotel. Rooms have "thick carpets" and are very quiet due to the double glazing, despite its position along the main road.
