The Humber Bridge opened in 1981 and spans the Humber Estuary. It has a total length of 2,220 metres and until 1998 it was the longest bridge of its kind in the world, it is now the fourth longest suspension bridge in the world. A dual carriageway road runs across the full length of the bridge and there is a public footpath that runs alongside this. It is toll bridge and the current costs each way are as follows:
