[fizzytom, 26/06/2010] The Olympic Stadium used in the 1952 summer games is situated in the Töölö district of Helsinki, about 2 Kilometres from the centre. It is walkable, of course, but you can also take a tram from the centre which takes only a few minutes. When you see it you might think that the design looks rather dated given that the games were held in Finland in the 1950s but the truth is the stadium was designed and built originally for the 1938 games but they were postponed due to the Second World War.
