Located 50 miles east of Nassau on Harbour Island is Pink Sands Beach which the author describes as "beautiful" and states that "to miss this beauty would be unforgivable". We are told that the sand is pink due to a mix between the white sand and the red coral that is available in the area.
The author believes that the striking "contrast of the deep blue sky and the green vegetation" provides a plethora of opportunities for taking pictures, recommending that the best times are "early morning before you get too many harsh shadows messing up your shot".
We are told that the "shore slopes slowly" and that the shallow "sandy bottom" goes out for quite some distance. It is suggested that you "try walking as far as you can" along the 3 1/2 mile stretch of pink sandy beach and that there is "no need for shoes".
