The author sees the size of the pool - which is claimed to be the "longest in Southeast Asia" - as en example for "how over the top" the Daewoo is. He continues by pointing out the quantity ("more than 1000") of the paintings which are used for the decoration of the hotel. The "open marble" lobby and the "two-story" lounge are very large. So are the rooms which are "lavisly decorated". The views go either towards the zoo and the west lake or towards downtown. Frommers sees the location as suboptimal as guest are dependent on taxis to go to downtown, and the shuttle service of the hotel is "infrequent".
