I had a great time here and would return. Much, much nicer than its rival the Belvedere, a plateglass monstrosity that looks like a politbureau building which pollutes the Grindelwald skyline (I stayed there in the nineties and did not like it). One word of caution: there seems to be a lot of building work going on behind the hotel (chalets and a huge apartment block) - not sure how much noise and disruption this will bring - or for how long.
