The decor is rustic in style, but complemented with modern facilities to create a comfortable base for your visit to this magnificent Andalusian city.Paseo de los Tristes is lined on one side with authentic tapas bars and on the other by the River Darro. At one end you will find the ancient church of San Pedro, and the other leads into the lively and historic Sacromonte district. Here you will find numerous cave houses, some of which have been converted to flamenco theatres and nightclubs.Set at the heart of Granada’s timeless Albaicín district, this charming little hotel is housed in a lovingly restored building dating from the 15th century.
The Casa de la Abuela lies in the shadow of the majestic Alhambra Palace, just off the beautiful square of Paseo de los Tristes and trickling waters of the River Darro. It is surrounded by the narrow streets and whitewashed houses of the Albaicín – one of the most atmospheric and best preserved Moorish districts in Spain. The hotel itself retains many original features in keeping with the local area, such as heavy wooden doors, exposed brickwork and ornate flooring.
Start the day with a typical Granada breakfast before heading to see the sights of the city centre, just a 10-minute walk away. In the local area you will also be able to enjoy the bustling Plaza Nueva and awesome views from the San Nicolás viewpoint. And, when you return to the hotel, you will be able to enjoy the views up to the floodlit Alhambra from the typical rooftop terrace. The hotel does not accept American Express as a method of payment.
