This "Isabelline Gothic style" mausoleum, next to the Catherdral, is said to be " Granada's most outstanding Christian building", according to the Lonely Planet Guide. "Commissioned by the Catholic Monarchs Isabel and Fernando", they lie here with their descendants, "in simple lead coffins" situated "beneath their marble monuments in the chancel". The guide enumerates the tombs and their owners, and describes their "brightly painted bas-reliefs" and "marble effigies".
