, 08/01/2011] Glasgow Botanic Gardens is a public park located in probably the best area of Glasgow - the West End. Easy commute by bus or subway from every other part of the city. The actual botanic part of the whole park is quite small, but very nicely presented. It features several glasshouses, the most notable of which is the Kibble Palace, which is an “A listed 19th century, curvilinear iron structure of exquisite design and form - very beautiful to look at. Although not "extensive" like their Edinburgh counterpart, or "exemplary", the gardens, all 11 hectares of them, contain an important collection of tropical plants, among which the orchid and begonias are "rather acclaimed". The glasshouse, a "Victorian" affair, is ideal to "unwind and wander".
