[calsf, 02/01/2010] It was a bit intimidating to choose a hotel for my son and myself while visiting Glasgow as we had never been there before, had no idea what to expect. As is typical I decided that the Radisson SAS was a good choice after reading the many nice reviews elsewhere. It turns out that the reviews were spot on. The hotel is across the street from the train station which is usually not the best location, however, it turned out to be the quite good here. The reasons were many. Since its opening in 2002 Frommer's informs us the" Radisson has set down architectural markers for any other hotels to open in Glasgow" and continues "its dramatic and curving facade is just a stone's throw from Central Station".The bedrooms have "blonde wood details and Scandinavian cool" and all have" modern conveniences". The fitness facilities available include a "pool and state-of-the art gym" and "Collage and TaPaell'ya offer two distinct dining options". Frommer's awards one red star and highly recommends a visit to the Radisson SAS.

Fodors describes the Radisson SAS as an "eye-catching edifice" which is located " behind Central Station in the city's up-and-coming financial quarter." The lounge has a "glass front" which makes it "seem as though it were part of the street." The bedrooms all have different styles and as an example we are told that the "Nordic rooms" are decorated in "an icy shade of blue". The hotel boasts two restaurants the "Collage", which serves "Continental cuisine" whilst the "Tapaell'Ya," is a tapas bar which is "popular with business and artist types, as is the sleek street-level bar."
