[more]The Icon Museum of Girne is located in the former Greek Orthodox Church of Archangelos Mikhael. The church features a high bell tower which is regarded as one of the landmarks of Girne and can be seen from afar. The church dates back to 1860, but was restored before it opened its doors as a museum in 1990.
The exhibition of icons in the museum is spread over 3 levels. It displays icons from various churches of the Girne area that have been saved after the war of 1974.The church is located only a few meters from the old harbour of Girne.
