Hotels Westerplatte Gdańsk
Westerplatte is a peninsula in Gdansk in the harbour channel. From 1926 - 1939 a Polish Military Transit Depot was located there, on a territory of the Free City of Danzig.
It is famous as the place where the World War 2 began with the battle of Westerplatte, one of the first battles of the Invasion of Poland in 1939. The Polish garrison held out against the attack for seven days before surrendering to the Nazi German forces, and the site is now a memorial to the defenders.
Currently there is a monument to the battle as well as a branch exhibition of the Historical Museum of Gdansk at the ruins of the barracks and the blockhouse.
Westerplatte can be reached by bus 106 which leaves from the main train station, the excursion boats include the site in their trip around the harbour. There is ample car parking at the site.
Entrance to the site is free while there is small charge for visiting the exhibition at the blockhouse which is open May-Sept between 9am and 4pm.

Hotels Dwór Artusa Gdańsk
Situated in the Main Town area, on the Long Market (part of the Royal Route), near the Neptune Fountain, Dwor Artusa (Arthurs Court) is one of the principal attractions of Gdansk.
The first court was built around 1350 and the members still had jousting tornaments then. Later on the knightly customs were replicated in the social life:meetings and feasts, celebrations and weddings. It also acted as a theatre and a stock exchange.
The interior contains a lot of original art works and fittings, including the oldest bar in Poland (with a tin counter) and the tallest tiled stove in Europe, measuring over 30 feet in height and dating back to 1545.
