[more]Warrawong Wildlife Sanctuary was created in 1969 in order to re-vegetate the land with native plant life and encourage local wildlife back to the area. In 1982 feral-proof fencing was erected around the 35 acre site and native animals were released into the enclosure. Today there are over 100 species of animals to be seen throughout the sanctuary.
There is a cafe / restaurant and gift shop onsite. Opening hours are 9am to 9pm daily. Between 9am and 4pm every day entrance to the sanctuary is free; entry after 4pm incurs a fee. An interactive animal show is shown at 11am and 2pm and incurs a fee. Guided walks need to be booked and costs vary. There is tented accommodation for visitors who wish to stop over night and experience the nocturnal wildlife.
