On 25Apr09, my fiancé and I joined the Night of the museums activity in Frankfurt and it only happens once a year. We bought our ticket at the box office at the Hauptwache tube station in the town centre. The tickets were €12 per person and the time was between 7pm and 2am. We got full access to all 46 participated museums and bus transfers were provided within the price. We only managed to go to 4 museums and the Commerzbank Arena. Some of the museums were really packed!
One of the museums that we visited was the Museum for Modern Art. It is located in the town centre and the nearest tube station is Dom/ Römer and it is just 2 minutes from the museum. It was very easy to find. The building is in a triangle shape and it actually looked like a slice of cake.
There wasn't any queue so we just showed our tickets at the door then we were through. It was actually quite packed inside the building. There were 4 levels and can be reached by steps. The interior design was so excellent and very interesting. We were more amazed by the interior design than the actual arts inside the museum. I have captured quite a few interior design and posted them already.
Some of the art works were really simple and weird inside the museum. We spent about 30 minutes inside the museum and were bored already. We thought it was only worth a go when it is free or at a discount. The admission is free on the last Saturday of each month, or otherwise you'll have to pay €8.00.
It is recommeded to go when it is free. It is worth to see the interior design and it really depends on the collection as well.
