[more]MonteCasino Bird Gardens in Johannesburg provide a home for over 1,000 different birds as well as mammals, amphibians, reptiles and other creatures. There are 142 species of birds that include owls, birds of prey and storks.
Visitors to this attraction can experience the “Flight of Fantasy”, where during a 40 minute presentation many of the birds are allowed to fly freely around the gardens.
Facilities include Café Flamingo where visitors enjoy refreshments overlooking the Flamingo pool. The gardens also provide an education programme for local school children.
The MonteCasino Bird Gardens are open daily from 8.30 am until 5.30pm. The Flight of Fantasy shows take place at 11am and 3pm(Monday to Friday) and at 11am, 1pm and 3pm (weekends and public holidays).
Admission prices are:
Adults and children over 10 years old - R35.00 (3.5 Euros)
Children under 10 years old and Senior Citizens - R19.50 (2 Euros)
