Restaurant/ InnsCantina Barbagianni

[nineteen69, 22.05.2008] Cantina Barbagianni is a charming small restaurant just 5 minutes to walk from the famous Piazza di Santa Croce. This means it is close enough to the historical centre of Florence for having a lunch break after some sight-seeing. And it is far enough from the main tourist's paths so you can be sure that this is not one of the many tourist traps in the center of Florence that serve low quality for high prices.
The quality of food and wine in this restaurant is very good and selective and the staff had always been friendly, helpful and efficient when we visited. Prices for dinner are rather upmarket (but reasonable), but for lunch you can get the menu of the day (two courses, water and cafe or dessert) for as less as 11 €. I highly recommend their red wine Rosso di Montepulciano (Doc, Canneta 2006) for just 2 € a glass.
