If you know how to appreciate a cosy and authentic environment in a beautiful private home right in the centre of one of the most gorgeous cities in the world, then you will not be disappointed. The residence offers spacious and luminous rooms, totally renovated and provided with carefully chosen antique furnishings and modern comforts. \n\nSome superior rooms look out onto the Tower of the Palazzo Vecchio, Orsanmichele Church and the 500 year-old New Market (known as the Mercato del Porcellino or Little Pig), still today an animated market that is characteristic of Florence. Other superior rooms face out onto an ancient Medieval neighbourhood of the city, known for its distinctive towers, houses and the 13th-century Palagio di Parte Guelfa.\n\nThe price includes daily cleaning service of the room, daily changing of towels and twice a weekly changing of bed linens. Hairdryers and an iron are available upon request (limited quantity). All of the rooms are non-smoking. There is no bar or breakfast service in the Guest House. \nThere are many characteristic Florentine cafes with delicious cakes nearby.\nIn the home there is a cosy common dining room, where you can enjoy tea, hot chocolate or coffee, some biscuits, plum cakes, snacks and some jams and marmalades. Alternatively, you can take the Navetta Bus which leaves every 30 minutes for the Santa Maria Novella Train Station. \n\nBy Train:\nFrom the Santa Maria Novella Train Station:\nThe best way to arrive is by taxi. You may walk if you don’t have heavy luggage (10 / 15 minutes by foot); at the train station, take the exit next to the pharmacy, cross the street and turn on your right. Pass a big square where you will see Hotel Baglioni. Follow Via Panzani, then turn at the second street on your right into Via Rondinelli. Walk straight along Via Tornabuoni to Piazza S. Trinita (a square with a column in the middle). Then turn on your left along Via Porta Rossa. Keep going straight until you reach Via Pellicceria, where you will find the hotel. \n\nThe hotel is in Via Pellicceria, on the right-hand side next to the Old Stove Irish Pub, at number 2. There is no big sign outside but there is just a little bell door saying Relais Cavalcanti. You cannot miss it because it’s the only door next to the Old Stove Irish Pub.\n\nBy Car: \nThe hotel suggests that you don\'t come to Florence by car as it’s hard to drive (most of the streets are one way), the garages are expensive and you are not allowed to go in and out of the city centre as you like.\n- Take the A1 motorway.\n- Exit at Firenze Certosa.\n- Follow the indications for Florence / Centre (Centro). \n- When you arrive at the big Medieval door of the city centre, Porta Romana (you can recognize it because there is a big white statue of a woman in the middle of the square), you must pass through it and keep going straight ahead into Via Romana and then into Via Maggio, until you reach Ponte Santa Trinita (a bridge over the River Arno with statues). \n- Pass the river and keep straight in Via Tornabuoni. \n- After the traffic light, turn on the first road on the right and then turn again on the first on the right in Via de Vecchietti. \n- Then keep going straight until the street ends in a little square: Piazza Davanzati. \n- Take the only road on your left, Via Portarossa, and then turn on the first road on your right, Via Pellicceria, where you will find the hotel. \n\nThere is a chain on that right side of Via Pellicceria and you cannot drive up to the front door, so please leave your car next to the chain whilst you come up to the Relais to drop off the luggage. \n \nIn fact, from Monday to Saturday from 07:30-19:30 you are allowed to drive into the city centre, just to leave your luggage or to go to the garages and to the rental car offices. You can only park in the garages .\n\nPlease let the hotel know your exact time of arrival into the city centre and your license plate at your check-in.\n\nThe hotel is located in a pedestrian area.
