[Howard, 01/10/2009] We stayed at Hotel David for 4 nights in August 2009. It was warm in Florence (35 C) and at night the airconditioning in the room was wonderful. The hotel is in a quiet corner surrounded by foliage and offers a family type atmosphere at Reception and in the lounge downstairs, where there are computers linked to the internet free of charge. The management serves soft drinks and canapes on ground floor terrace every evening about 6 pm. This is a great place to relax, but if you are susceptible to being bitten by mosquitos then cover up and spray repellent on your legs and arms. There is another [more]

[brucesyl, 31/08/2009] I am an American journalist and travel much of the time. The Hotel David is my favorite hotel in the world. I began staying at the Hotel David five years ago. It was wonderful then, and it keep getting better. The rooms are beautiful, and the setting is lovely. The staff is friendly, always helpful and highly professional. Since the hotel was originally a villa, there is also a wonderful home-like quality to the Hotel David. I think of it as a second home. And, finally, the rates are very reasonable. I know Florence very well. This is the best place to stay in Florence.
