Originally a 15th century “palazzo”, the Hotel Bernini is built according to the classic Florentine architectural style, with string-course cornices along the walls and wooden shutters giving it a charming antique flavour. The hotel corridors are furnished with beautiful period pieces that further enhance the intimate charm of this elegant building: period chests of drawers, magnificent watches and extremely valuable pendulum clocks. Paintings and antique prints create a warm, sumptuous atmosphere. Most recently, the hotel lobby and one floor of the property have been newly renovated. These newly designed areas now boast a unique combination of the classic original Italian décor with an added inspiration from Morocco and other parts of Northern Africa. This fusion is a historical nod to the Northern African spice merchants that inhabited the city and surrounding areas in Tuscany during the Renaissance period.
The 74 rooms including 8 suites and junior suites, are fitted out with the best, most up-to-date mod-cons and still preserve the charm of the past. The Tuscan Floor is reminiscent of old world Tuscan colours and themes, very warm and inviting. The new design incorporates beautiful terracotta floors in warm glowing shades of reds and oranges, coffered ceilings, four poster beds, along with rich fabrics and objects recreating a romantic interpretation of 15th century Florence. Free wi-fi in guest rooms as well as all public areas.
A full breakfast is served in the magnificent Sala Parlamento (complete with a splendid frescoed ceiling) formerly a meeting place for members of Parliament and senators of the Kingdom of Italy.
Our Parlamento Restaurant is the ideal place for delicious gastronomic specialities in Florence, its versatility makes it an excellent restaurant offering an innovative menu, that is updated on monthly basis.
