User review
[30/06/2006] The author states that he had "lived in Cape Town for many years" and describes it as a "superb city" which had changed much during his absence. Although the Victoria & Albert Waterfront "had grown from 300 restaurants & pubs to nearly 400" with good facilities and " food from all over the world", it "was not the highlight" of his visit. His culinary highlight was found "in the town of Fish Hoek, some 20km's outside of Cape Town" in the shape of "a restaurant called the Fishhoek Galley". He continues to describe the restaurant as being "situated on a lovely beach" and offering "a vast menu of fresh seafood, prepared to perfection" Selections included "something for everybody's taste", and the prices were " very reasonable". The author also states that "for around R 150/£12 you can enjoy South African cuisine at its best" with service being described as "slick, the wine list extensive, and the views to die for".
