Banff Aspen Lodge, reviewed here by Murray Whyte of Frommer's, appears "reasonable" compared to other "high-priced" accommodations in Banff. With "large" bedrooms which are also "well maintained" and "relatively contemporary", the lodge is described as "spiffy". Only a "short stroll" away from the centre of Banff, it has been the subject of a "light" restoration, and given a "slick" new reception area and a "chic" frontage, making it look more "contemporary".

This does not extend to the bedrooms which can seem a little "dated". However, they are also "tidy" and each with a terrace or balcony. There is also a new hot tub outside, and although it is not very private, it is "better than it was".

With one Frommer's star, the Aspen Lodge is "highly recommended".
