We have visited this small, family-run hotel three times, and each time gets better. The two brothers that run the hotel (Daniele and Gabriele) are wonderful, spending time to talk to guests about the best places to see, eat, and go. The rooms, although simple, are very spacious, clean and with all the amenities one could need...even free WLAN. The hotel itself is tucked outside of the walls, but just a short walk or bike ride of 5 minutes you are inside the walls, which we feel is much more practical than staying inside the walls. There is a parking courtyard for guests, with ample, safe parking. The breakfast is sufficient .the coffee and espresso wonderful. If you are looking however for a hotel with a nice view, this is not the place for you as it does stand behind a row of apartments and there are also some small shops that rent a couple of spaces. This never bothered us though because we were not spending so much time in our rooms...but instead biking around the walls and walking within Lucca. I would not recommend this as a place for children, as there would not be anything for them to do, but all in all, a little gem for us grownups wanting a nice place to stay with easy access to the city.
