The Lonely Planet Guide explain that this hotel is more of a "designer resort" than a "traditional motorway hotel", and that it is "rapidly gaining" a reputation of being the "best all-round" base near Bristol.

The original "boxy modern architecture" has been worked on by designers, who have achieved livening it up with "modern art", Cotswold stone and other characterful touches. The author reckons that this hotel is "a far cry from a standard-issue chain".

There is a range of guestrooms, from the "contemporary" to the "executive". All have "super power" showers, brand bath products and "big beds". The "decor is fresh" and modern, with facilities that "can't be faulted". If you need a "maximum space", the guide recommends to take a "lakeside" room, with its own "private" garden and patio doors. The executive rooms "boast" a "guest fridge" and a study space aside.

The hotel has a "huge leisure complex", with a spa, an "Olympic-sized swimming pool" and a "state-of-the-art gym". Mr. Berry does add to go there if you're "happy to splash the cash"!

As far as meals are concerned, there is Quarterjacks Restaurant, which is "semi-formal" and Danby's Bar or The Black Sheep for "lighter bites and local beers".
