The writer informs us that the Cadogan, which he rates as "smart", once belonged to Lillie Langtry and boasts a "prime" location. The shopping facilities of Harrods and Harvey Nichols as well as Sloane Square are "just a stone's throw away".

The accommodations are "attractively furnished" and although they vary in "size and style" they are all "stylishly appointed". The writer further mentions that the Cadogan offers a "beautifully panelled drawing room" and a "stylish" restaurant with bar.

I was attracted to the Cadogan as much for its promise of luxury and comfort, as for its historic appeal (The Cadogan is famous for having been the place where Oscar Wilde was arrested for acts considered indecent at the time). My stay was delightful!

My room was very clean, and nicely captured the spirit of the times in which the hotel was first opened (Edwardian, i believe). The staff was very helpful and friendly, and tried hard to make sure that my stay was comfortable.

I was not a big fan of the food, but then, I've never been enthusiastic for british cooking, so don't let that turn you away!

The hotel has a good location in the city of London, and the hotel even gave me some information about places to sightsee.

On the whole, I can say that my experience was very positive, and it was definitely worth the visit!

The author notes that over the years the Cadogan had its share of "legends" (Edward VII's mistress Lillie Langtry, Oscar Wilde's arrest) within its walls. Prior to its recent transformation by "design doyenne" Miss Leo-Andrieu the Victorian "terra-cotta brick" building was "growing a bit stale". The public rooms display "stardust" wallpaper, tweed upholstery and feathers "strewn across pillows". The guestrooms are "spacious and individually decorated" and the bathrooms (some "have two") are "luxurious". He was impressed with the "comfortable yet stately" dining room which served both "innovative cuisine" and traditional Victorian breakfasts. The hotel also offers 24 hour room service and laundry service. This hotel has received Frommers "very highly recommended" rating.

The author of this review states that this Knightsbridge hotel has had both the public and private rooms recently refurbished and while leaving the original features intact, manages to be both warm and modern. He does state that his own room was "nothing exceptional" but had a reasonable amount of space and was comfortable.

The restaurant food was very good, being "nicely presented" and of a high standard while his breakfast was "superb".
