Frommers rate The Shoreham hotel a one star rating, which indicates that they recommend it.
The author says that this hotel is not on the same level with The Peninsula or the St. Regis, which are located nearby, but after it has gone through a huge and expensive renovation it is "more than worthy" and a "less-expensive alternative" to the other hotels "down the block".
After the renovation amenities like "champagne or sparkling water upon check-in" and a "24-hour self-service coffee bar" have been added.
Rooms in different sizes and with different amenities included are available. Despite the renovation and the upgrades, the author recommends to go for "deluxe or a suite" because they have bigger bathrooms, some even with "five-head rain showers and Jacuzzis".
All rooms are equipped with "flatscreen high-definition televisions".
