The hotel has "intimate appeal" which is enhanced by the "small bar, pet-friendly policy" and the "warm welcome and reliable service" provided by the staff. Standard guestrooms are slightly small but tasteful with "minimalist modern décor" and all the basic amenities such as "two-line phones, CD/DVD players, laptop safes, double paned windows and Frette robes". The two penthouses have an "attractive urban style" and lodgings are "surprisingly quiet" despite the convenient location and "action of 42nd Street." Described as having a "Gehry-esque exterior" and set in "one of the best locations in the city," Hotel 41 is said to be "sleek and functional" and to provide guests with "plenty of freebies." Gayot awards 3 trumpets, which signify "good rooms, amenities and service."
