Frommers have decorated the Four Seasons, which is in their opinion 'the only one true luxury resort' in Las Vegas, with three stars. This means they rate it as exceptional. The hotel is located 'on the top five floors of the Mandalay Bay' hotel but has its 'own driveway and portico entrance' and also an 'entire registration area' that is separated from the Mandalay. When it comes down to ambiance the Four Seasons is 'light-years away' and guests wont be greeted by the 'clash and clang of slots' that usually accompanies a hotel in Las Vegas in this 'womblike' hotel that is all 'calm and quiet'. The author finds that the hotel is 'the best of both worlds' as the 'casino, nightlife and general hubbub' are just behind the door at the Mandalay.
He states that the rooms seem to be 'slightly bland' - although 'in good taste'. He came to appreciate the 'fine quality of the furniture' when using it and found out that the beds offer feather pillows and down comforters. The rooms further offer all modern amenities such as 'safes, irons, VCR', luxury bathroom products and voice mail which he found 'really, really very nice'. The writer notes that the rooms which offer views over the Strip enjoy an 'incredible panorama'.
The service, including the room service, has been found as 'superb' with very attentive staff everywhere. The author also describes the hotel as very child-friendly with 'childproof' rooms, 'welcome gifts of toy's and a' list of comforts that is a mile long'. He further mentions all the other amenities the hotel offers for free, like 'gym/spa access, pool cabanas' and more and states that all this makes it a better value in the end than the Bellagio.
