Great views but not so great pizza

[29/05/2008] D&B Café is a bistro-style restaurant and café located right in the heart of the Old Town. They are specialised in Italian pizza and offer in and outdoor seating.

Shakespeare's tower

[26/05/2008] Thanks to Shakespeare the so-called Othello tower in Famagusta is probably one of the most visited attractions in the Northern part of Cyprus. He used "a seaport in Cyprus" as a setting for his play, named the main character after a Venetian governor and a legend was born.

Paradise for all those who like sweets

[24/05/2008] Petek is probably the first place where all locals and tourist guides will send you to, as it is THE must see place in Famagusta as far as eating is concerned.

[02/10/2006] A poster of the ruins of the ancient town of Salamis, Northern Cyprus, seen on a tourism fair in 1998, first brought my attention to this part of the world as a possible holiday destination. I booked a 1 week holiday in the neighbourhood of Salamis, was smitten by the country, met my - now - husband and moved there within less than a year. We lived in the small town of Yeni Bogazici, right opposite of Salamis, and for the next 1 1 / 2 years, until we moved to another village close by, the ruins were literally "down our street" - and our favourite spot for walks.
