[Fritzthecat, 10/10/2010] The Canbulat Museum and Tomb are located in the Canbulat Bastion which is a part of the old Venetian City Walls that surrounds the entire historical Old Town of Famagusta. The Canbulat Bastion is situated at the most Southern tip of the fortification and sports its own gate, which offers either entry to the Old Town or exit from it towards Maras and the Palm Beach Hotel.
The most interesting about this small museum, apart from its location within these impressive walls, is probably the story behind it.

[Fritzthecat, 29/09/2010] Bedi's Restaurant and Bar and the beach with the same name are located directly next to the ruins of ancient Salamis, roughly a ten minute drive towards the north from Famagusta's Old Town. The ruins are arguably the main attraction in this area, and rightfully so, and as well signed out as you'd expect them to be. So finding your way here is not a problem.

[Fritzthecat, 26/05/2008] Thanks to Shakespeare the so-called Othello tower in Famagusta is probably one of the most visited attractions in the Northern part of Cyprus. He used "a seaport in Cyprus" as a setting for his play, named the main character after a Venetian governor and a legend was born.

[Fritzthecat, 02/10/2006] A poster of the ruins of the ancient town of Salamis, Northern Cyprus, seen on a tourism fair in 1998, first brought my attention to this part of the world as a possible holiday destination.
I booked a 1 week holiday in the neighbourhood of Salamis, was smitten by the country, met my - now - husband and moved there within less than a year.
We lived in the small town of Yeni Bogazici, right opposite of Salamis, and for the next 1 1 / 2 years, until we moved to another village close by, the ruins were literally "down our street" - and our favourite spot for walks.
