[more]The City Walls of Famagusta date back to the Lusignan reign of the island but were later much reinforced by the Venetians. During this era the walls were not only made higher and much wider but also the old square shaped towers were replaced by the round towers you can still see today.
The walls are around 8 meters deep and measure up to 15 metres in height and are accessible from several points within the old city of Famagusta.
