Description Golden Chain Sea Breeze Resort
Located in a building that housed US Navy personnel, the Best Western Sea Breeze Hotel is part of a Naval Base. Adjacent to the hotel is the H. E. Holt Naval Base, and the town of Exmouth built at the same time to serve as housing for military families. The Learmonth Airport is only 40 km away from the resort, with complimentary shuttle service available. The resort does not include a restaurant, but the owners can arrange to drop as well as pick you up from town for your meals. Alternatively guests can take advantage of the poolside barbeque area, and hold family get-togethers. The Ningaloo Reef near the town-site offers an excellent dive site, where you can swim with whale sharks between March and July, while the eco-tourist would be interested in visiting the Cape Range National Park, which also includes several kilometers of beaches. For an adventure seeker, the BW Sea Breeze makes for an excellent home base to return to after exploring the region near Exmouth.
Nambung National Park surrounds the Nambung River and the town of Cervantes. It's landmark attraction is the Pinnacles, but it is a large park and includes a stretch of coastline, which include beaches and dune systems. There are several deserts, including the Red and White ones near the Pinnacles and the Painted Desert further South. At each end of the park there are nature reserves.
Besides exploring the Pinnacles, other attractions include wildflower watching, picnicking, swimming, fishing and snorkelling. Other attractions which can be reached a few kilometres from the park entrance are Kangaroo Point and Hangover Bay. Both have picnic areas, gas barbecues and Kangaroo Point has toilets.
Facilities at the park are barbecues, information panels, tables and toilets. There are no camping areas in the national park but accommodation and other services are available in Cervantes
The park is about three hours drive from Perth city centre and the entrance is off Cervantes Road, which runs off Brand Highway. It attracts visitor a year round in fine weather, although the best season is said to be during September and October when the wildflowers are blooming.
