[29/01/2007] The author states they "fell in love" with Rocky Mountain National Park "when I was young". It "remains a favorite" spot for vacations. The author finds "the views breathtaking", particularly in winter "when the peaks" are shrouded in snow. The favorite activity of the author is watching "wildlife". The "elk rutting season" was particularly a favorite "in September". This was due to "male elk bugling" while contesting harem rights by "locking antlers" with their adversary. November was the time to "observe the bighorn sheep" start their rutting season. The author enjoyed the fighting rams "butt heads" while being able to hear "the loud bang" of the horns during the contest. The author states the park "is the most affordable" vacation. For $20 US the purchase of "a pass that is good" secured visits for a weeks time. One can "come and go" as frequently "as you please". The author also states that "the rangers are always so friendly" and glad to respond to "questions about the park".
The author gave the park a five star rating.
