When guests who have enjoyed a stay at Son Granot try to define why, they do so in several ways. Some talk of a Country Hotel, some a 'Boutique' Hotel, some prefer to talk of the hotel's enchantment and others it's glamour. However they define it, what they do all agree on is that the experience has been unique and unforgettable.
Son Granot is a Georgian style colonial house constructed around the year 1712, unique on the island for its architecture and strategically situated above the entrance of the Port of Mahon. The property is 75.000 sq. metres and is the first place in Spain to catch the morning sun. The hotel terraces offer a unique spectacle of the sun reflecting off the sea and the Fort of La Mola.
Son Granot consists of a elegant group of buildings where sometimes one has the sensation of still living in bygone age but with all the comforts of the present day. One breathes tranquillity and intimacy. Everything about the place invites one to enjoy it, its hidden corners, its grounds and terraces, the charm of the main house and the peace of the suites with private terraces.
In the restaurant one can enjoy a cuisine prepared with loving care and detail. All the ingredients are of the highest quality with the majority originating in Minorca. The vegetables are grown ecologically in Son Granot's very own kitchen garden.
Minorca is one of the last undiscovered paradises in the Mediterranean, declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO. It is one of the few remaining places where it is still possible to encounter virgin beaches only inhabited by both beautiful birds and a great diversity of marine life
The best things about Minorca are its people, their culture and unique traditions, the conservation of the environment, its prehistoric monuments and the colours of the countryside which change with the passing months.
Minorca is also one of the few remaining places in Spain and Europe where hustle and bustle still does not exist.
