Blue Bells - London, United Kingdom - January, 2008
It wasn't what we expected! (22.03.2008 15:28)
Overall for me this is the kind of place to stay if on a tight budget but wanting the specific area. I could only find this one within my budget within the area of Notting Hill and wanted to be able to walk to the Royal Albert Hall if I chose to (which we did) and it took us about 20 minutes of strolling. However it is more basic than I would have liked and the rooms really need to be looked at. [more...] -
Best Western Gatwick Worth - Gatwick, United Kingdom - February, 2008
A clean basic airport hotel (24.02.2008 17:42)
For the price of a room (just under £50 for the two of us - no breakfast) it was a good choice for us and would be for anyone on a budget - the rooms are basic but importantly they are clean which is really one of the most important things to look for! The guys who do the shuttle transfers are really friendly and the ease at which these are organised is great. The food available is good and there [more...] -
MEN Arena - Manchester, United Kingdom
Brilliant atmosphere! (04.02.2008 01:22)
The MEN is is in the centre of Manchester and is host to hundreds of different events each year. There is nearly always something on at the venue and this place can hold a staggering 21,000 people! The venue is mainly popular for concerts such as bands etc but there will be comedy acts such as Peter Kay along with other various shows such as Cirque Du Soleil and exhibitions too. Tickets for [more...] -
Royal Albert Hall - London, United Kingdom
A concert or two? (28.01.2008 17:29)
The Roayl Albert Hall or the RAH as it's refered to in shortened terms is in London city centre set in the area under Kensington. The venue is located directly across the road from the very well known Hyde Park and it is quite a stunnig building if I do say so myself. A recent trip to London took me to my first ever show here (Cirque Du Soleil) and even though I had seen pictures many a time [more...] -
London Heathrow - Harlington, United Kingdom
It's busy busy busy! (28.01.2008 15:53)
Heathrow Airport is the UK's largest airport and also probably the busiest! The Airport consisits of 4 terminals and will soon be 5 with the opening of the new British Airways terminal. The airport has many different airlines using it and is frequently used by a lot of the bigger airlines that don't use any other UK airport such as South African airways, Qantas or Air Mauritius. Many UK [more...] -
London Underground - London, United Kingdom
So many places...so little time! (26.01.2008 11:58)
I have just come back from a 2 day trip to London as part of my birthday celebrations and it has to be said that before leaving I must have checked the online map of the london underground about a million times to make sure I knew which way I was going and on which lines I had to be on!! Upon arriving into Heathrow I made my way to the ticket booth to purchase my tickets - I had already looked [more...] -
Francs - Altrincham, United Kingdom
A 'special occasion' restaurant (11.01.2008 02:41)
Francs is one of those restaurants you come across now and again that you have known was there for ages and then when you finally visit you think 'Why have I not been here before now!' It's a restaurant that you keep for special occasions - not because it's expensive - far from it in fact but, simply because it's so nice it's worth saving for those dates in your dairy that mean a lot and you [more...] -
Exchange Bar and Grill - Manchester, United Kingdom
Lively, loud and fun! (11.01.2008 02:28)
The exchange bar and grill is a second American themed restaurant within the Trafford centre Orient food court. It is probably one of the larger venues and is a combined restaurant and bar. It is always busy due to the fact that it has an extensive menu made of up of great starters such as cheese and bacon potato skins, filling mains such as chilli and rice and yummy deserts such as brownie [more...] -
Cheadle Royal - Stockport, United Kingdom
Family gatherings (11.01.2008 02:20)
The Cheadle Royal is a frequent haunt fro me and my extended family - this place has seen plenty of birthday gatherings from us and I think it will for some time to come yet! The restaurant is located in a large building and it has a full bar inside too - the staff are always really friendly and a lot of the time they can accomodate large groups as long as you let them know in advance. The [more...] -
Potter's - Manchester, United Kingdom
Nice (11.01.2008 02:12)
This restaurant ahas lovely food but I find that it is quite expensive - it didn't used to be but in recent years the prices have gone up. In my opinion the food is nice here but not that nice I can justify spending as much on a meal here as what it is! An average cost is nearly £20 for a steak - yes it's not the most expensive you'll ever find but it's got a lot of competition in the close [more...]
